Terms of Service

By creating an account or using TonePrep, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Availability and complimentary Pro

TonePrep is generally available for public signup. Features may change as we improve the product. We may still issue limited complimentary access codes; sharing codes outside the people we intended may result in revoked complimentary access.

Complimentary Pro: accounts we designated during private beta, and new accounts that sign up with a valid complimentary access code we issued, receive Pro features at no charge until we notify you of a change (or until the account is suspended for misuse). Complimentary Pro is personal and non-transferable and may be revoked for fraud, abuse, or violation of these terms. Public signups without a valid access code start on Free (or paid Pro) as shown on the Pricing page.

The service

TonePrep provides AI-assisted guitar tone suggestions for worship musicians based on gear profiles and setlists you provide. You may also optionally connect Planning Center Services to import song lists from your church's service plans. Suggestions are educational and advisory — not professional audio engineering advice. You are responsible for how you use settings on stage and in rehearsal.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use TonePrep. If you are under 18, you should use the service with a parent or guardian's permission.

Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You must provide accurate account information.
• You may not share your account or use the service for unlawful purposes.

Planning Center and third-party accounts

Connecting Planning Center is optional. If you connect it, you represent that you are authorized to access the Planning Center organization(s) you link (for example, as a volunteer or staff member at that church). You must comply with Planning Center's terms and your church's policies when using that data. TonePrep imports plan song information for your personal use in preparing tones; we do not modify your Planning Center plans. You may disconnect Planning Center at any time from your Profile. Third-party services (including Planning Center, Google sign-in, Supabase, Vercel, xAI, and Stripe) are governed by their own terms; we are not responsible for those services.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to access other users' data or bypass security measures.
• Abuse the AI generation feature (automated scraping, excessive requests, etc.).
• Upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
• Use Planning Center integration beyond read/import access you are authorized to use, or share imported church plan data inappropriately.
• Reverse engineer or resell the service without permission.

AI-generated content

Tone suggestions are generated by artificial intelligence and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Always use your judgment and test tones in your actual worship environment. We do not guarantee any particular musical or technical result. Song titles and artists you enter or import may be processed by our AI provider solely to generate suggestions.

Intellectual property

TonePrep, its branding, and software are owned by us. You retain ownership of the content you create (gear lists, setlists, notes). Content imported from Planning Center remains subject to Planning Center and your church's rights. You grant us a limited license to store and process content solely to operate the service.

Plans, pricing, and billing

TonePrep offers a Free plan with usage limits and a paid Pro plan. Current list prices are shown on the Pricing page (Pro is $12 per month or $99 per year unless otherwise stated). Payments are processed in live mode by Stripe. Complimentary Pro holders (grandfathered beta accounts and valid access-code signups) receive Pro as described under Availability and complimentary Pro above and do not need to pay while that access remains in effect.

• Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. By upgrading, you also agree to Stripe's terms for payment processing.
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can manage payment methods and cancel from Profile → Manage subscription (Stripe Customer Portal).
• After cancellation of a paid subscription, paid Pro access continues until the end of the current paid period unless otherwise stated in the portal or your receipt. Canceling a paid plan does not remove separate complimentary beta Pro if your account still has that status.
• Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we choose to issue a refund. Contact matt@mattmanworshiptones.com for billing questions.
• We may change prices or plan limits with notice for future billing periods. We may modify or discontinue features at any time.

Free-plan limits (for example setlists, AI tone generations, and Planning Center imports) are enforced to keep the service sustainable. Circumventing limits may result in suspension.

Third-party services

TonePrep relies on third parties including Supabase, Vercel, xAI, Stripe (payments), optional Google sign-in, and optional Planning Center. Those services are governed by their own terms; we are not responsible for outages or policies of third parties.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TONEPREP AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE — INCLUDING RELIANCE ON AI TONE SUGGESTIONS OR IMPORTED SETLIST DATA.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your Profile page. Deleting your account removes your TonePrep data, including any stored Planning Center connection and plan records we hold. If you have an active paid Stripe subscription, cancel it in the Customer Portal (or contact us) so you are not billed after deletion. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose a security risk.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the revised date at the top of this page. Continued use of TonePrep after changes means you accept the updated terms.
